A Rare and Early Benjamin Gray of London Walnut and Mahogany? Caddy Top Longcase Clock, the eight day four pillar striking movement with brass dial and spandrels, subsidiary seconds hand and date aperture, 224cm. Benjamin Gray (1676-1764) partnered with Francois Justin Vulliamy. On 30th March 1742, King George II appointed Gray as his Watchmaker in Ordinary.

There are a number of losses to the case and shakes where the veneer has split. There is a key, weights and pendulum. This has come from a house clearance of a deceased estate and was running before being moved to auction. 210cm high x 46.5 at widest point x 25.5 at deepest point
